Resolve Error Code 403 in Android

few days ago I received a question from a friend who got into trouble on the Android device. after several days of searching for information on the forum how to solve “could not be downloaded due to an error. (403)” or condition where the user can not download apps through the Market / Play store or often called the error (403) / error (403) Play store.

The cause of the error in the android market / Play Store when attempting to download or install the application could be several causes, such as lack of stable internet connection, one setting the APN (Access Point Names), proxy settings error or it could be another factor.

To address could not be downloaded due to an error (403) there are several ways that can be tried, namely:

1. Turn on Airplane Mode

To turn airplane mode Android (airplane mode) do when in the main screen (device lights)> press and hold the on / off button for a few seconds, wait until the pop-up menu> click Airplane Mode> wait until the indicator turns into an image signal plane.

After that disable Airplane Mode back in the same way as activate> wait a while until device get a phone signal and internet which is marked by the emergence of the letter G or E or H or 3G in the notification bar.

If you’ve acquired an internet signal, try re-open Android Market or Google Play. If it still appears Play Store Error (403), please try the other way.

2. Delete Search History

The second way does not necessarily resolve the error 403 when downloading Android apps, but no harm in trying because it is easy. All you have to do is open the Market or Google Play Store> Press the MENU button> click Settings (settings)> click Clear Search History (clear search history).

3. Remove Proxy Setting in Internet and MMS settings.

  • 1. Go to the main page by pressing the HOME
  • 2. Press the MENU button and then click Settings (settings)
  • 3. Click the Wireless & Netowrks (wireless network)
  • 4. Click on Mobile Networks (mobile network / phone)
  • 5. Click the Access Point Namers (Name Access Point or Access Point Name)
  • 6. Click on the name of the APN Internet / MMS in use today
  • 7. On the Proxy, set to “Not Set” Or empty.
  • 8. Press the MENU button> click save (save)

4. Use the alternate APN

after I try, it means that all three were successful.

hopefully some of the above can provide solutions.

Goog Luck..!!

I would like to share my experience with google play error 403:

I have been getting this error for some time now and it has been driving me mad.

Like all I have searched the internet on this error 403 and I have done everything that people had suggested and was getting no further forward. After hours of going into all settings I could possibly find and emptying all cach data and all other data that might be causing this stupid annoying error, I remembered that it worked and updated my apps while I was out and about with only mobile data swithed on and not WIFI within my phones settings.

Again sat here I have read all things people have suggested for hours and days with no luck, I then turned off WIFI and kept mobile data on! and it worked! All my apps updated no problem and now I am able to download apps without the error 403 as well as being able to sign into my apps like Instagram which I wasn’t able to do so. So I can only say if people have the problem then it could be your router. Yes you may use your mobile data and if you pay then unfortunately it will cost you in mobile data charges but if you get free unlimited Internet data with your service provider then I’m sure you won’t mind updating it through your mobile data, again make sure WIFI is switched off and see how that goes.

My problem only started once I got the new Virgin Media super hub installed as not only have I had problem with my phone I have problems with going into sites like Ebay and emails.

Hope this helps and if not then I am sorry but that is my only experience in sorting this stupid error out.

is there any other solution to get rid of this error none of the above is working in my phone

39 indonetworksecurity { 11.05.13 at 8:29 pm }

the above is the simplest way, and not too risky. but if it still does not work you can try the “Factory Reset” at risk of losing all your data. unless you’ve been backing it up first.

I am using Micromax MAD.
I had the same problem. Followed the below steps. It worked.
There are some simple steps.
If you follow them. The error 403 won’t be occurring anymore.

1. Go to Settings>Wireless and Network settings>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names.
2. Now open whichever access point you use to browse on your phone (the one which is currently selected).
2. In it, if there is a set of number in the PROXY, remove it and click Ok. You will notice that it will be written after you do it.
3. NOW, go download apps !!!

54 Bluishshadow { 01.31.14 at 2:50 am }

On more thing. If you see that your APN is not editable you can create a new one with the information of existing one provided by you network except under PROXY do not put any value.
